Superfood!

Chlorella is a green algae that grows in freshwater ponds in the Far East. A minority of people around the world have been experiencing the health benefits for decades but new studies in Japan show it to be very effective in fighting lifestyle diseases. We here in the western world know all about lifestyle diseases. We invented them. A lifestyle disease could be described as indulging in any behavior which ultimately threatens your health and shortens your life.

Things like alcohol abuse. Prescription drug abuse. Overeating rich foods. Lack of exercise. Talking on cell phones, texting, brushing your teeth, and eating breakfast all while driving your car to work. These sorts of things are NOT good for you. But chlorella might be able to help, except for that last one, of course.

The little green tablets made from this superfood have been shown to boost energy, aid digestion, fight depression and even reduce body fat levels and blood glucose levels, especially in those afflicted with Type 2 diabetes.

Why the heck is chlorella so powerful? For starters, it’s a protein bomb, packed with twice as much as spinach. It also has nine essential amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. Other health claims say it boosts the immune system in cancer patients and relieves irritable bowel syndrome.

So, will chlorella make all your wildest dreams come true? Come on – no. But it might be a good supplement to add to your food storage cache for emergencies. You do have one of those, right?
