What, me worry?

You might recognize the headline above as the caption MAD Magazine uses along with their ever-present mascot, the faintly simian-looking Alfred E. Neuman. It’s good advice. Facing uncertain times with the right psychological outlook can be as important as every other preparation you’ve made put together.

Of course, we’re not advocating an ostrich approach – stick your head in the sand and pretend like nothing bad is happening. That’s just silly and childish but, once you’ve done everything you can to prepare for survival situations, what’s the use of fretting about things you can’t control?

That’s when a calm confidence is called for. Panic is not a survival strategy, especially if your family is looking to you for guidance. Turn on any television in the land and it’s not hard to find a seemingly endless stream of bad news. Face it, you can’t control the weather, bank failures, stock market crashes, inept and crooked politicians, or a nose-diving economy. Sorry, you just can’t. That’s the reality of life.

Yes, you can have some small effect through voting or how you spend your money but don’t expect the world to do a U-turn and come around to your way of thinking. When the excrement hits the fan, keep your emotions under control! Out of control emotions lead to panic. Panic leads to stupid decisions. Stupid decisions lead to death.

At HolisticSurvival.com, we educate you daily on the proper, sane preparations to make to protect the people, places, and profits you care about in uncertain times. There’s no need to worry or panic because you’re going to be educated and ready for anything.
